World War II Photo Gallery - Set 1

Set 2 | Map Page | Main Menu

These photos are scanned from slides found among others belonging to my uncle, who served in Europe in WWII. Presumably he found or was given the film, and later put them in Kodak slide mounts. The film had suffered damage, including scratches and color loss. The scans were restored using the My Heritage site's photo restoration tools, (which is indicated by the icons in the lower left corner of the photos). Some place identifications were made using Google photo search, with a few coming from people familiar with the region.

The photos seem to document travels by the photographer around Germany and occupied Poland. If the slides are in sequential order, then more than one trip was made to some of the same areas. The pictures were taken in different seasons also, so may span more than a year's time. A map of known locations is here.
